Chele La Excursion - After Breakfast: En-route visit: Chele La (Pass) & Haa Valley, the only border of Bhutanand China situated at an elevation 3,988 meters is considered to be one of the highest motor able passes in Bhutan - About an hour's drive along a densely-populated forest road. This Pass is also known to be a ‘botanical paradise’. Trek to Taksang Monastery (6 - 7 Hrs Round Trek) - Early morning breakfast - About 10 kilometres outside Paro is the famous Taktshang (Tiger’s Nest) Hermitage on the face of a sheer 1000 metre / 3281 foot cliff - The place is highly sacred to the Bhutanese in that they believe Guru Rinpoche, the father of Bhutanese Buddhism landed here on the back of a tigress - The trek to Tiger's nest monastery takes about three hours one way - A scenic view of the town of Paro can be seen from the Tiger's nest - A 16 kilometre road passes up the valley to the ruins of another fortress-monastery, Drukyel Dzong, which was partly destroyed by fire in 1951 - Night Stay at Paro
